About Dr. Patel

Dr. Patel is a native of Southern California and completed his training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA where he acted as Chief Resident. This was followed by a completion of an Interventional Pain Fellowship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL through the Department of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Patel brings a diverse array of clinical training and experience to the Premier Spine & Pain Institute’s core team. He cares deeply about his patients and prides himself–and his staff–on creating an inviting, empathetic pain care experience.

Expert in chronic pain treatment and spinal stimulation

Dr. Patel has performed over 500 spinal cord stimulator procedures for chronic back pain, leg pain, and chronic regional pain syndrome (CRPS). In this video, Dr. Patel goes over the basics of spinal cord stimulation and explains how advances in stimulator technology are changing the way physicians treat chronic pain.
