About Dr. Boyd

Dr. Boyd grew up in Florida, lived in Texas, and moved to Colorado in 1986. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Florida State University and a Master of Arts degree in music from Texas Woman’s University and plays string bass in a couple of orchestras. He is a Vietnam veteran. Dr. Boyd changed his college major to psychology after completing an internship in music therapy. He has been practicing psychology since 1984 and achieved board certification in neuropsychology in 1998. 

Dr. Boyd directed the brain injury rehabilitation programs at Mediplex Rehabilitation Hospital and has practiced neuropsychology and pain, health, and rehabilitation psychology in private practices and in clinics during his career.

Premiere Neuropsychology

Dr. Boyd specializes in neuropsychology, and also practices in the areas of pain, health, and rehabilitation psychology. He focuses on evaluating and treating people with mild traumatic brain injuries (concussions) and authored the book Post-Concussion Syndrome: An Evidence Based Approach. He practices cognitive-behavioral therapy and has authored the book Break the Rules and Achieve Mental Wellness. Dr. Boyd helps his patients overcome the psychological problems that accompany head injuries, other physical injuries, pain, and health problems.

 

Dr. Boyd is licensed to practice psychology in Colorado and is a diplomate of the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology.

Dr. Boyd also engages in forensic psychology related to mild traumatic brain injuries.
